Barbara Tabachnick
Painter/Digital Artist
Barbara Tabachnick is an experimental artist. She works in acrylic, watercolor, encaustic, mixed media, and digital photography to create images at various levels of abstraction. Landscapes and cityscapes are the current content of her art when there is any content at all.
“Art enriches life, whether doing one’s own art or observing the art of others. Art provides joy, challenge, insights, self-actualization, and lifetime learning. I cannot imagine life without art!”
“Sometimes my process is intuitive and spontaneous. I often just enjoy pushing the paint around to see where it wants to go. At other times, my dual interest in both science and art lead me to manipulate photographs of, for example, trees, people and architecture on my computer to create a variety of digital images, which can stand alone or provide the basis for paintings. Recent advances in development of applications for digital manipulation provide hours of fascination and joy playing with my thousands of images.”
