Karen Zima
Painter
Karen Zima is full time artist and she paints every day of her life, unless she’s sick or on vacation. Karen was born in Easton, Pennsylvania and her talent was recognized early, when at the age of ten she won a prize for a portrait in a school contest. After high school, Karen furthered her art studies at Penn State. She considers herself to be a prolific painter who is known for great attention to detail and strength of color in her work.
“I can make light and brilliant colors dance on my canvas to create a magical and alluring harmony. My expertise is in painting in oil, acrylic and pastel. Throughout my life, I have drawn from inspiration from every day and everyone around me. Then, I add my imagination and bring an alluring work of art to life. I studied photography at Penn State and the local community college. I have worked as a professional for an advertising agency in the 90’s. I worked mostly doing slide presentations for big corporations, stock brochures, ads and clothing catalogues. I have numerous awards. I was also a court artist for many years. This was very challenging as the subjects are constantly moving about. I am constantly learning and growing as an artist.”
“For as long I can remember, I have been drawing or painting. Having many years of maturing as an artist, my style is my own, as I express my emotions in my colorful technique. I am a full-time artist because I cannot imagine spending my time without a brush in my hand, paint in my hair and clothes and emotional expression flowing from my mind and soul. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed creating it. My work mainly consists of portraits, with an element of nature and fantasy. I like to create works that offer an escapism for the viewer.”
“If you have any questions, please contact me and thank you for considering using one of my paintings to add a little color and delight to your life.”
