Kenneth Vonderberg
Painter
Ken Vonderberg graduated from the Layton School of Art (now the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design) in 1968 with a BFA major in Industrial Design. He was a commercial interior designer with architectural firms in Milwaukee and St. Louis, MO for 25 years. He has been a full-time artist since retiring from teaching interior design in college for 19 years. He owned a studio and gallery in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward for several years along with his wife Ruth who is also an artist. He now works from his home studio in Shorewood, Wisconsin. His work is influenced by his background as an architectural interior designer and as a design educator.
He creates in various dry media as well as acrylics and oils and in pyrography and digital media. He is also a photographer using a digital camera and editing software to produce images for reference and for exhibitions.
