Photographer
Mary Dimitropoulou is a fine art photographer based in Hong Kong. Her philosophy is Art creates emotions. Emotions create memories.
“I cannot draw. I cannot sculpt. I cannot knit. But I can photograph. And this is my way of calling others to explore places and cultures, people and feelings. I invite the viewers to ponder on the status of the people, places and events that are depicted in my images.”
“I don't try to take photographs about one subject or another. But is a happy instance when two seemingly irrelevant photos can be interconnected in some way. And it’s even better when the viewers can see this connection.”
“I try to experiment with various styles. I‘m a chaser of Caravaggio’s chiaroscuros, De Chirico’s emptiness, Van Gogh’s yellows and Monet’s landscapes.”
