Sharmistha Sikdar

Sharmistha Sikdar is a full time academic and an amateur artist. Her passion for art began when she was a doctoral student at Cornell University. She was initially drawn to art by the natural beauty of Ithaca and the vibrant Cornell community. Now her art is inspired by nature, floral gardens, and landscape sceneries. She also has a fascination for oceans and galaxies. Her art style is abstract contemporary. She works mostly with acrylics on stretched canvas and canvas panels, and also experiments with other media like gouache, spray paint, marker art and pastels.
