Wayne Chunat
Painter
Wayne Chunat is a wildlife artist from Lakeland Florida. He is a self-taught artist but has over the years attended workshops presented by artists such as Don Altemus, Arleta Pech, Robert Bateman, John Seere-Lester, Hiner Hertling, John Banovich, Fred Leach, George Wervey and David Rankin.
“Not only must a wildlife artist know and understand anatomy, structure and form but also the subject’s environment and how we relate and interact with it. My painting becomes the interpretation of this environment through color, line and form. Then I try to add the rhythm of life to touch the viewers’ emotions, drawing them into the work and making them a part of this world.”
“It has always been my intention to change attitudes toward nature through my artwork. I try to tell a story about the subject and its environment that makes the viewer feel he is a part of a living, breathing world that he does not totally control. It is my life’s ambition to see my talents support the development of parks and natural areas and to assist conservation efforts at home and throughout the world.”
